Why UX?

UX Design is the amalgamation of technology and design. It utilizes my proudest skills and achievements from my tech internships and engineering education and pairs it with my natural creative abilities. I enjoy improving experiences for others and leaving them with a tangible product that I've created. Knowing that I've made a real impact is what drives me everyday.

How did you get into UX Design?

Although I studied Industrial Engineering in college, I was always an artist and creative kid from a young age. I enjoyed creating things with my hands and drawing, painting, sculpting and allowing that to take on many forms. As I began to choose a major for college I decided that I wanted to pair my creative skills with a technical background to give me an edge. While in engineering school, I interned for tech companies and this is how I discovered UX Design! I knew this was what I wanted to pursue and am currently on a path to pursing this.

Do you know how to code?

Coding and I have a mixed relationship. I always had a small interest in it and was able to code a mobile app during my Microsoft internship. However, I realized quickly that this requires a lot of patience and an extraordinarily high level of attention to detail that I didn't necessarily see myself doing everyday. However, I do enjoy working with developers and seeing how my designs are feasible and made. I still appreciate coding as a whole and might dabble in this again one day!
